This charming property is situated on the high ground between the valley of the Lemance to the west and the valley of the Theze to the east. The landscape is marked by valleys cut out of the limestone, through which little streams like the Theze, the Masse, the Vert, and the Lemance flow. In the area are many attractive villages: Villefranche du Perigord which plays host to a mushroom fair in the Autumn, Cazals where there are antique fairs, and Monpazier a beautiful bastide town laid out by Edward I in 1284. There are good weekly markets at Puy l'Eveque, Cazals (Sunday) and Prayssac (Friday), and two marvellous castles in the area: Biron and Bonaguil. Sauveterre, which is about 8 minutes away has two bars, a village shop, a boulangerie and a traditional restaurant.
