The villa is situated in the countryside in a residential area 1km from the old village of Puyloubier, immediately beneath the Montagne Sainte Victoire, a favourite spot for the painter Cezanne, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The picturesque and cultural town of Aix-en-Provence, a former Roman spa town 15km away where it is still possible to take the waters, has many lovely pavement cafes, restaurants, attractive shops and markets alongside its splendid examples of Baroque architecture. This cosmopolitan university town, attracting scholars from around the world, retains its stunning historic beauty. Day-to-day shopping can be done at Puyloubier, or the historic town of Trets, 8km away, where a visit can be made to the chateau. The Cote d Azur, with its glorious beaches, lies just 35km to the south.
