Located in the village of Vertheuil, this small house is walking distance to the village boulangerie. It has been very recently created by the owner who is an interior designer and who also looks after the village museum. The village of Vertheuil is peaceful; it is known for its Abbaye, originally built during the XI century, which now hosts cultural events. All the surrounding villages have signposted walks which are all linked together. The local restaurant/crêperie, one minute’s walk from the house, serves lunches and dinners or you can just enjoy a drink on its sunny terrace.

The property is in an ideal place for tours to the most famous vineyards – only 5km from St Estephe and 8km from Pauillac. The Maison du Tourisme et du Vin in Pauillac organises wine tasting with more than 300 different Médoc wines available. The lake of Hourtin is 35–40 minutes drive and is perfect for swimming and sunbathing; you can rent canoes or small boats there. Also the lovely beach at Lacanau is just 50 minutes. Along the estuary are some lovely walks; if you cross over it you come to the delightful centre of Blaye with its citadel and more vineyards!

DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION

You enter the property directly into the main living area: it is bright and charming. It has an open kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and normal cooker; open-plan to this is the lounge area with comfortable armchairs, coffee table, TV and CD player. A large range of glazed doors opens onto the lovely patio; this has a fountain and a paved terrace with garden furniture. On the ground floor there is also a shower room and a separate WC. Upstairs, you will find two bedrooms: a twin and a double. The stone walls have been painted in pale blue; the double room is glazed, and from the bed you have beautiful views of the countryside.
